Overture Wins Strategic Net
Publishing Deal
Overture has
signed a deal with Internet publishers Knight Ridder Digital for
the exclusive provision of both algorithmic and paid search listings on
Knight Ridder Digital's network of media sites, including the San
Jose Mercury News and the Miami Herald.
Although the financial
terms were not released, the one year deal is being seen as a strategic
win for Overture against chief rival Google, who were also competing for
the contract. The Knight Ridder sites will also test Overture's
new content-targeted advertising as part of the agreement.
